The Silver Anniversary of Toronto Film Society "Raiding the Vaults" at one of the greatest film archives right in the middle of beautiful Rochester NY. A fantastic lineup of silents and sound featurs and shorts all on 35mm. Philip Carli will accompany all the silent films. Researched film notes and original reviews of each film. Special rates available at 2 hotels within easy walking distance to the theatre. Park Avenue Arts Festival is also on this weekend just a block over. Lineup of films is strong on directors including King Vidor, Lewis Milestone, Cecil B. deMille, W.S. Van Dyke, Tod Browning, George Hill Great stars-Lon Chaney, Garbo, Lilyan Tashman, Norma Talmadge, rare Spencer Tracey, rarely seen James Stewart/Hedy Lamarr film.
